Hamlet like we've never seen it before. Enric Cambray stars in this 'Stand-up Comedy,' or better put, 'Stand-up Tragedy,' about the first act of Shakespeare's most attended play. We could go back again and again to the Prince of Denmark and never get enough of him.
Hamlet, the protagonist of Shakespeare's most famous tragedy and one of the major works of universal literature, appears before 21st-century spectators and spectators to explain, comment, play and dissect in a fun and gamberous manner the first act of the play that bears his name. And he does it very well as a stand-up comedian from Stand-up Comedy (in this case, "Stand-up Tragedy"), that is, alone, face to face in front of the auditorium, speaking directly to the audience, with a lot of humour but also wanting to get to the bottom of the... question.

A few years ago, between the actor Enric Cambray and yours truly, a complicity was born that is, without a doubt, the dream of every playwright: suddenly, an interpreter had become for me not only a vehicle of the text or texts that he wrote or was capable of writing but nothing more and nothing less than an inexhaustible fund of inspiration. The one who was previously called a “muse” (or “muso”, in this case). After four or five folded theater experiences, Enric one day told me: no one will ever offer me to do a Hamlet. What he said! Precisely, Hamlet, the masterpiece of the greatest playwright of all time, a work that has always been as disturbing to me as it is, at times, complicated to understand, with those endless speeches of the protagonist stopping the action every two minutes. three to share their thoughts as profound as they are transcendent. And suddenly, the little light came on. I will never direct this work, but I can try to make a written version. I mean rewritten. Mine. With Enric and for Enric and only for Enric. From the 21st century, of course, but at the same time, trying to understand what the hell Shakespeare had written and wanted to say in such an incommensurable and unrepeatable way. And a huge challenge came to me: to make five plays, five long monologues for each of the acts, which Enric would have to perform year after year. That is, the first act, to be performed in 2022 (this one we are releasing now), the second we would release in 2023... let's see if, when the Sagrada Familia is finished building, in 2026, we already have the fifth to be able to do, 4 in a single and suicidal day, a whole day of show with him and the spectators who dare to come... For now, we want to start with this first “round”, a tour de force that Enric will carry out with everyone those who want to reread the words of the first act of Shakespeare's Hamlet in a key and a style that will surprise you, with a sense of humor and a desire to play with the words and thoughts of this unique character that we all have in mind. Hamlet explains the first act of his tragedy from a stand-up comedy stage: he alone, with a stool and a microphone, with the intention of giving you a great time and also making you ruminate a little. Otherwise, it wouldn't be Hamlet.
