The action of Tartuf o L’Impostor, takes place in a single setting: a hall, or foyer, of Orgon's bourgeois mansion in Paris. A unique space, with wooden floors and walls; an old material, worn out, aged: from an old house or an old theater, which, above all, has been deeply lived in. In this confined and closed space, we find our characters from Molière's classic comedy. A space for a lifetime, for a text that stands the test of time. Something has changed, though. The actors are lively, modern, and very relatable. The language has also evolved: it's the contemporary Catalan spoken today. The interpretation of the space, the characters, and their dialogue is thus from the perspective of the present, the year 2000. The space is presented in its raw form. The characters bear clear resemblances to today's individuals. We're familiar with the actors; we've seen them in various plays, on the streets, and even on TV, which nowadays feels more real than reality itself.
