Dansa d'Agost tenderly and nostalgically describes the lives of five unmarried sisters aged between thirty and forty who live together in the small village of Bally Beg, in Ireland in 1936. Of the five Mundy sisters, the only one who works outside the family home is the eldest, Kate (Mónica López), who is a teacher at the parish school. Agnes (Nora Navas) works from home sewing gloves, and Rose (Màrcia Cisteró), who has a mild intellectual disability, assists her. Maggie (Marta Marco) and Chris (Carlota Olcina) are homemakers. All are unmarried, but the youngest, Chris, has a five-year-old son, Michael (Albert Triola), with Gerry Evans (Oscar Muñoz), a charming drifter. Gerry has never taken care of his son, and it is the mother and her sisters who have taken on the responsibility of raising him. The play, divided into two acts, is set in August 1936, and it is Michael himself who takes on the task of explaining to the audience, many years later, the memories he retains from that time: Father Jack (Ramon Vila), the eldest brother, who had spent his life as a missionary in Africa, had to return to Bally Beg due to illness and was at home recounting his incredible experiences in Uganda. Gerry, his father, announced that he would go to Spain to fight with the International Brigades. A Marconi radio arrived at the home and drove all the sisters wild. Memories, recollections of an August that saw the harmony of the Mundy sisters' home collapse.
